From August 7 to 15, 2022, a wind of Acadia will blow on Courseulles-sur-mer, Douvres-la-Délivrande, Carpiquet, Beny-sur-mer, Bernières-sur-mer, Luc-sur-mer, Langrune-sur-mer, Saint Aubin-sur-mer, Authie, in Calvados, on the occasion of the 17th edition of the festival "La Seaine Acadienne".

Created to pay tribute to the Acadian soldiers who landed on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944, and to celebrate the vitality of today's Acadia, this event was one of the very few not to be cancelled in 2020 and 2021. Today, with more than 12,000 participants, it is the most important event dedicated to the whole of Acadia in France, and the flagship event of the summer on the Côte de Nacre.

As part of its 17th edition, "La semaine acadienne" will have the honor of welcoming the famous singer Isabelle Boulay (Quebec) for an exceptional voice and piano concert. Many concerts with Acadian artists will also be offered. Among them, Natasha St Pier (New Brunswick) who will give her concert "Believe" based on poems of Saint Theresa in the Basilica of Douvres-la-Délivrande, "La famille LeBlanc" (New Brunswick), Nicole and Michelle Deveau (Nova Scotia), Claude Cormier (Magdalen Islands / Quebec), Josée Lapierre (Magdalen Islands / Quebec). Showman Christian Marc Gendron (Quebec) will also perform with Manon Seguin (Ontario), and French artists will complete the program. Like Pierre Billon, composer of many songs for Johnny Hallyday (" j'ai oublié de vivre ", " Mon pt'it Loup "...) and Michel Sardou (Je vole) for a great rock n' roll concert that will close the western day. Without forgetting the exceptional concert "Around the guitar", proposed and conceived especially for the festival by the great guitarist Jean Félix Lalanne, who will gather in this unique occasion of very big musicians and singers as Ang-gun, Michael Jones, Tom Leeb, Robben Ford (guitarist of Miles Davis), Jean Félix Lalanne, Gaelle Buswel... And, of course, the faithful Sussie Arvesen and Terry Bradford.

Also on the program will be commemorative ceremonies in honor of Acadian soldiers, documentary screenings including a tribute concert to Gerry Boudreau (Nova Scotia), conferences with Ronald Cormier (New Brunswick), animations, workshops, a parade of vintage vehicles, a historical walk on the traces of the Ca-nadians, thematic days on "The life of the Acadians at the time of the fort of Louisbourg", "Life at the time of the D-Day Landings", "Cap à l'Ouest", a photo exhibition of Sophie Porquet on the jetty of Courseulles. Not forgetting, on August 15, the national holiday of the Aca-dians, the great tintamarre which will see nearly 3000 people marching on the Courseulles seawall to make noise in complete freedom.
