Description

First concert of the French tour.

Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer is delighted to be hosting the first concert of the Boyertown Music Choir and Ensembles' French tour, which has brought them all the way from Pennsylvania in the United States.

The evening will open with the Méli-Mélo choir from Tilly-sur-Seulles, directed by Florent Cyprien, performing the first part of the concert. This local choir offers a varied repertoire combining French chanson, world music and the great works of the choral repertoire. Before performing at the Église de la Madeleine in Paris, the American ensemble will be stopping off at Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer for an exceptional musical evening open to all. The programme of Boyertown Music's choir and ensembles will then take the audience on a musical journey through several centuries and traditions, combining the great works of the sacred repertoire, instrumental music and American spirituals. Audiences will hear works by Morten Lauridsen, Bach, Mozart, Rachmaninov, John Rutter, César Franck and Beethoven, as well as iconic traditional songs such as Amazing Grace, Deep River and Down to the River to Pray. Performed by the choir and various instrumental ensembles, the concert will alternate meditative moments, solo passages and powerful pieces, ending in a festive atmosphere with Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee, When the Saints Go Marching In and Let There Be Peace on Earth. It's a warm evening for everyone. Admission free
