Description

To coincide with the temporary exhibition "My childhood, 1939-1945", the Juno Beach Centre is showing the series "Les grandes Grandes Vacances" in the multi-purpose hall. With two episodes a day, children can follow the adventures of Ernest and Colette, two little Parisians plunged into the daily life of the Second World War.

In the summer of 1939, Ernest and Colette are sent to live with their virtually unknown grandparents in Grangeville, Normandy. Their stay, planned for a few weeks, lasted until 1944. There they experience the major and minor events of the conflict, from the exodus to the Armistice and the D-Day Landings. Inspired by her grandmother's memories and the accounts of other children of the time, author and co-writer Delphine Maury created this series, illustrated by Emile Bravo, the famous comic strip artist.

During and after the screenings, a Canadian snack will be available for purchase.
