Description

Here is the translation of the information for the Luc Yacht Club (LYC) "Moussaillons" program:

General Overview

The "Moussaillons" (Young Sailors) school is designed for children aged 4 to 8 years old. The program offers a cross-disciplinary approach combining sailing, marine environment discovery, and fun educational activities.

Two Specific Programs

The club offers two distinct options based on the child's age and swimming ability:

"Bord de mer" (Seashore) Moussaillons: For ages 4–6 and/or non-swimmers.

"Pleine Mer" (Open Sea) Moussaillons: For ages 6–8 and/or swimmers.

Activities

The program features multiple activities and is adapted based on weather conditions:

Sailing: Introduction to sailing on an authentic "privateer" schooner, Optimist sailing (in good weather), Stand Up Paddleboarding, and sports catamarans.

Environment: Learning about marine flora and fauna, tides, and the foreshore.

Workshops: Building and using kites, miniature sand yachts, and wind turbines.

Fishing: Shore fishing (pêche à pied), sea fishing, and setting traps to create saltwater aquariums.

Organization & Safety

Schedule: Monday to Friday, either in the morning (10:00 AM – 12:30 PM) or afternoon (2:00 PM – 4:30 PM), depending on the tide.

Supervision: Small groups of 6 to 9 children maximum, led by a certified sailing instructor.
