Description
Description: An evening of stone and light at Bernières-sur-mer, classified as an SPR (Site Patrimonial Remarquable), a land donated by Odon, the brother of Duke William, to the bishopric of Bayeux. Under the high Gothic bell tower, encased like a huge, luminous steel chrysalis, the Bernières Optique Nouvelle Patrimoine association and amateur musicians from the Caen Conservatoire will be welcoming visitors to this historic monument. Visitors will be able to stroll through the 900-year-old building and discover its characteristic Norman Romanesque and Gothic decor by candlelight, highlighted by the illumination of the high stone vaults. The different stages in the construction of the church right up to the current restoration of the bell tower will be shown on video.
A Norman snack will be served at the end of the tour.
