I'll take you on a walk through Courseulles to learn the basics of photography with your camera.

- A theory session at Le Charbon on the basics and the course outline (30 min) - A walk around Courseulles to practise (2 hours) - Return to Le Charbon for a round-table discussion and feedback (30 mins). + Distribution of a printed memo containing the essential information to keep with you for your next photo outings.

Prerequisites: A digital SLR or hybrid camera (with the option of adjusting the A/V/M shooting modes). A basic knowledge of photography.

What you will learn: Move away from automatic mode towards aperture or shutter priority mode. Understanding how light, aperture and ISO sensitivity work. The basics of framing and composition (architecture, landscape or portrait depending on the trip), managing different shots.

What you won't learn: Taking photos using a compact camera, smartphone or tablet. Editing photos after the walk.
