Description

The Juno Beach Centre invites you to immerse yourself in history through the eyes of Harry "Jim" Bardsley, a Canadian artist who served in the Armed Forces during the Second World War.

Through a selection of exceptional drawings made on the spot, we discover Jim's years of service: from his training in Sussex, England, to his involvement in the Battle of Normandy and the liberation of Europe. His work captures the daily lives of soldiers and civilians, the camaraderie, but also the horror and distress of war.

This exhibition offers an intimate and moving perspective on the Second World War, revealing the courage, compassion and talent of a man whose artistic expression constitutes a singular historical chronicle.
