Pedal to remember, ride to pass on "La North Shore" cycle-history ride Tribute to the Acadian soldiers of the North Shore Regiment (New Brunswick)

The "La semaine acadienne" association, in partnership with the "Côte de Nacre cyclo" club, is organising a day of remembrance and sharing as part of the "La semaine acadienne" festival. The highlight of the day will be the "La North Shore" cycle-history ride, starting in Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer and heading for Carpiquet.

This commemorative ride pays tribute to the Acadian soldiers who served with New Brunswick's North Shore Regiment by retracing the route they took between Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer and Carpiquet in June 1944. It is part of an effort to pass on the memory and recognition of the Acadians' involvement in the Second World War.

Cycling clubs and associations in Normandy, and individuals, are warmly invited to take part in this free initiative, open to all, combining history, sport and fraternity.
