Description
Following an initial tour of Belgium and France in autumn 2008, Michel and Daniel Lemay released their first album, L'Homme qui a vu l'ours, a skilful blend of new compositions and revitalisations of old songs. The name Néo-Trad Festif was born...
After more than 150 shows in Quebec and three European tours, Les Frères Lemay surrounded themselves with seasoned collaborators to produce a 2nd opus, "La Marmite". The music is energetic and festive, with a clear rock flavour. Released in December 2012, the album is a landmark in Quebec neo-traditional music.
It was during their most recent trips to Qatar and Europe (2014) that the project of creating a 3rd album was set in motion... Still surrounded by the talented David Robert on percussion and Yanic Boudreau on violin, as well as Samuel Caron on harmonica and Marc-Antoine Goulet on electric guitar, Les Frères Lemay proudly unveil a 3rd opus entitled 'Marie Cantitum Dominum' in autumn 2015. More mixed than ever, this work once again challenges the conventions of traditional music.
Finally, the group will be hitting the festival circuit again in the summer of 2023 with their latest album, 'Le P'tit Jour'. With the return of galactic droid Carl Vaudrin on keyboards (Empreinte Galactique 2006), Les Frères Lemay are more than ever committed to their distinctive, contemporary sound. You'll have to see them burn up the stage to understand the full extent of the Neo-Trad Festif label...
