As part of the Journées Européennes des Métiers d'Art 2026, I'll be giving visitors a tour of my studio and firing room, explaining how I work and my main shaping, firing and glazing techniques. I will also present the aesthetic universe underlying my recent work: my "marine basins", my "geological strata", my "archaeological" pieces, to show that techniques and aesthetics are intimately linked. I'll be adapting my talk for a young audience, to show them that the ceramic artist's commitment is as much physical and technical as it is spiritual. And so, in keeping with the theme of JEMA 2026, I'll be telling them that they owe it to themselves to "put their heart and soul into their work"...
