A little history:
July 1874: Date of the creation of a casino-theater in Langrune/Saint Aubin on the site of the current “Les Joies du Rivage.”
The term “casino” should not be misleading: the building is primarily a theater and ballroom, even if during the day you can indulge in a few games there.
Alexandre Hugot, known as “Papa Hugot,” former theater director and stage manager at the Théâtre de Caen, has been responsible for organizing events and touring with his troupe every summer on the Côte de Nacre for many years.
The current casino dates back to 1926 and was built by architect Pierre Vammer.
This new casino, with its distinctive Art Deco façade, was the only casino to remain family-owned until 1980.

A little history:
In 1857, Luc acquired a seawall, a spa, cabins, and a casino.
This first casino (also known as a leisure center) was located in the adjoining rooms of the bathhouse.
Located opposite the current Hôtel des Thermes, it included a café-billiard hall and a wooden theater.
In 1882, a storm combined with a high tide destroyed the building.
A second casino was then built in 1883, further west on the seawall, on the site of the current casino.
After the war, Luc’s casino reopened, even offering movies.
This second casino was devastated by Allied shells.
A third casino was finally rebuilt and opened its doors in 1858.
