Description
As artist-in-residence at the Juno Centre, filmmaker Francine Hébert invites you to a moment of remembrance dedicated to Louis Valmont Roy, her great-uncle, a Canadian who fell in action at Colomby-Anguerny on June 6, 1944, in the early hours of the Battle of Normandy.
To mark the occasion, Francine will be showing previously unseen excerpts from interviews with her sisters, Gilberte and Jeannine. With emotion, they recall their brother?s sacrifice and the deep impression he left on their family.
The interviews are part of a documentary film project currently in development. Before and after the screening, Francine Hébert will share her research carried out in Canada and France to better understand who Louis Valmont Roy was and why he decided to join the war.
