Estonia, a small country of 45,339 km² (130th) and 1,359,995 inhabitants (158th), has been an independent republic since 1991! One of the three Baltic states. A history of colonization interspersed with rare periods of independence.

The year is September 1944. The Germans are fleeing the country as the Red Army approaches. In the midst of this "machine for crushing peoples", a few men and women of good will attempt the impossible: to restore the Republic and gain recognition from the Allies.
