Description
As part of the photography exhibition Oiseaux de l?extrême, voyage en haute mer, Arnaud Guérin, geologist, naturalist, author and professional photographer, will present his work at a conference in La Halle.
Albatrosses, puffins, penguins, terns, petrels, jaegers, gannets, guillemots, gulls, penguins, fulmars and frigatebirds... all these birds live in balance in one of the most extreme environments on the planet: the high seas. Scientist and photographer Arnaud Guérin has travelled the world's oceans, from the Falklands to New Zealand, from the Galapagos to Iceland, from the Channel Islands to the Faroe Islands, from Scotland to Spitaberg, to discover the stories of these exceptional birds. He transports us into the intimacy of these birds through a veritable tale of iodized and scientific voyages. Beyond the visual emotion, these birds reveal the riches and challenges of our planet... but also the immense beauty of nature and its ability to adapt to the most extreme conditions.
Oiseaux de l?Extrême : voyages en haute mer from April 12 to June 1 at La Halle. Opening at 7pm on April 18, followed by a lecture at 8pm at La Halle. A guided tour will be offered at 3pm the same day.
The lecture will be followed by a book-signing session for Arnaud Guérin?s books, in particular his latest, "Oiseaux de l?extrême, voyages en haute mer", published by Delachaux et Niestlé
